穴义

哑，音哑；门，门户。
此穴深刺可以致哑，也可治哑，故比喻为音哑的门户。

Meaning

Ya, mutism; men, door.
This point may either cause or treat mutism, so it is likened to a two-way door to mutism.

定位

向发际正中直上0.5寸

Location

0.5 cun directly above the midpoint of the posterior hairline.

主治

①治哑要穴，用于脑炎或中风后遗症所致的失语
②头痛项强

Indication

1. main point for dumbness, aphasia caused by the after-effect of meningitis and apoplexy
2. headache and stiff neck

针法

①直刺0.5~1寸
②不可向上斜刺或深刺。针刺过深可引起外伤性蛛网膜下腔出血，和颅后窝血肿
③本穴禁灸

Method

1. perpendicularly 0.5-1 cun
2. upward or deep puncture should be avoided
3. moxibustion can't be used in this point
