Motriz is a scientific journal, which is published quarterly by the Department of Physical Education, Institute of Biosciences, S?o Paulo State University, at Rio Claro, State of S?o Paulo, Brazil.
Motriz was launched in 1995. Its founding editors-in-chief were Dr. Benedito Sérgio Denadai, Dr. Mauro Betti, and Dr. Suraya Cristina Darido. Until 2001, Motriz published biannually, with approximately 15 articles per year. In 2002, Motriz began to publish quarterly, and increased its volume to 25 articles per year. By 2006, Motriz had achieved significant improvements in quality and volume, resulting in the publication of 40 articles per year, as well as its inclusion in the LILACS database (on April 17, 2008).
