天，天空；突，突出。
穴位于气管上段，喻为肺气上通于天的部位。

Meaning
Tian, heaven; tu, chimney.
The location of the point corresponds to the apper end of the trachea, like the chimney for the Qi of the lung.

定位
胸骨上窝正中。
|
Location
in the centre of the suprasternal fossa.
|
|
主治
1. 化痰平喘要穴，治咳嗽、气喘。
2．咽喉及前颈部疾病要穴，治咽喉疼痛，声音嘶哑，甲状腺肿，癔球症（梅核气)等。

Indication
1. main point for removing phlegm, cough, asthma.
2. sore throat, harsh voice, thyrophyma, Plum-stone Syndrome(a hysterical condition that the patient feels a foreign body, like the stone of a plum obstructing the throat, hard to swallow or spit it out, There is neither redness, nor swelling of the throat, nor interference with eating).

针尖向下，紧靠胸骨柄后方刺入1-1.2寸。 |
